This weekend I was home alone and pretty much spent the whole time baking while the snow set in. I decided that I've definitely excelled myself in the cake baking department and that I should move on to different baked goods! So, yesterday I baked Millionaires Shortbread and Raspberry Macaroons. Granted the shortbread was horrendously hard to cut into bite size chunks therefore ended up looking like it had been beaten up, and the macaroons were meant to have a chocolate centre but something went wrong whilst making my chocolate filling (not entirely sure what happened there) but I think I did a pretty good job! And here are some snaps to prove it. I also made some chicken and mushrooms pies today but they're not very pretty for me to take photos of. One day I am going to make a damn good wife (who probably has very fat children, haha).
I also went on a snowy walk on my lonesome this morning so I wouldn't feel that I hadn't stepped outside the flat all weekend. I discovered (to my absolute surprise) that we live really close to a lake. There were signs everywhere warning the public not to go in the water as it was toxic so not entirely sure what kind of lake it is, but it was rather pretty in the snow anyway. Even if it could dissolve my legs.
