Hiii :)

I'm new to this, but as I'm just about to leave uni and get thrown into the real world, I thought this would be a nice place to start :)

I have spent the last 3 years doing a Surface Pattern Design degree at Swansea Metropolitan University, and even though I have had a love/hate relationship with uni, I will be so sad to leave. I
have only just found my feet within the art and design world, only just realised what my style was and how I like working. My latest and last collection at uni is based on my travels inter-railing around Europe in the summer of 2009. It was a brilliant trip and one I will never forget. My entire third year's work has been based upon this trip, and here are a few pictures of my work.. :)

This is the image that is on my postcards for our degree show. It's a print I created from my drawings, maps and various images from traveling that I made into a repeat pattern and then digitally printed onto silk, needle punched and then embroidered onto by hand.

This is an image I created by collaging various bits from traveling together (photos, paper and paper bags) and drawing on top of them. Although originally I wasn't too keen on this picture, I have grown to love it and now it features on my business cards along with my suitcase print :) the bike I have drawn is my bike, that was given to me by my mum as it was hers when she was my age. It's rusty and has probably seen better days, but I love it and I want to ride it everywhere forever.

This drawing is of the houses in Amsterdam. In the two trips I have made to Amsterdam, both times I have dreamed of living in one of the town houses along the side of a canal with my bike parked outside. I love how romantic and exciting everything is in Amsterdam, and the feeling that there is nothing to rush for. I would love to live there one day, it is beautiful and definitely not what I expected when I first went there. This illustration has been used on many of my products that will be featuring in my degree show, including a mens tie and notebook covers.

I will add more of my images at a later date, but now, I must eat :)
